Melbourne Trip

Hello everyone!

How's everyone doing? I guess everyone's feeling excited and anticipating for grandma's big day right?

I am currently having a 2 weeks break but it's coming to end real soon...in few more days time....then it's all back to lectures, tutorials and exams...haih...

Anyway, on a brighter note, i had a great holiday this time! I went Melbourne with Shin Hong and we stayed over at his friend's place at Clayton. It's quite far from the city, about 40minutes train, but luckily his friend got a car to drive us around! Haha...

Shin hong's friend picked us up from the airport and drove us to Clayton, the place where we are staying.
Then, we head to Clayton town for brunch.
To me, Clayton actually feels like Adelaide except that they have much nicer food there.

After lunch, we took a train down to Caufield, Monash University to meet up with more friends...and we makan AGAIN! haha... We had Malaysian food this time and it was really
good! Very Authentic!

Then, we went to Chadstone Shopping Centre...
Walked around for awhile before we head back home.

Then, at night, Shin Hong and I went to
Clayton Town for supper at Malaysian Garden! Haha..

The next day, we took a train to the city.

Once we stepped out of Flinders Street Station we went WAH!~~~ Haha.. It's something like KL, or maybe HK... You can see tall buildings everywhere, the streets are jam packed with people and it's actually a weekday!

In Adelaide, there are very very little tall buildings, and our streets are always quite empty especially during the weekdays despite that it is a also a CITY! Haha.... But, the plus point is, Adelaide is definitely much much cleaner than
Melbourne! Melbourne even got KLANG's famous bird everywhere!
The GAGAK! Haha...

We went to chinatown and we ate at Old Town Kopitiam..
It's not the same one as the one we have in Malaysia and the food is just OK...
After that, we walked around the city for awhile before
we makan again at Max Brenner!

Max B serves their drinks in special cups.
They serve their cappuccino in a cup called as TheKangaroo Cup. The cup has got a small section where they will put two bars of chocolate in it and the chocolate will slowly melt into the cappuccino as you drink.
We tried The Suckao. Its a cup which has a hole at the bottom for the candle to heat up the milk in the cup. Then, we can add in bits of chocolates that they provide into the milk and melt them in the milk!

They have another special cup called The Hug Cup. The cup is specially designed for our hand to "hug" the cup and warm our hand at the same time! So cool right?
If i am not wrong, you can actually purchased all these cups online but i think it's quite costly!

After Max B, we took the train back to Clayton and went to Glen Waverly for dinner. We had Yong To Foo and sticky date pudding for dessert!

The next day, we went to the city again and we took the free city circle tram around the city.
Then we walked along the riverside and around Crown Casino.

In the evening, we went to Melbourne Central shopping centre before dinner.

This gigantic clock in the shopping centre will actually 'sing' every hour.

Notice the difference between those two pictures?

Then, we went to Lygon Street for dinner. We had Ying Thai and they served really good Thai food. After that, we went for dessert at Fredo and we had really yummy Durian Ice Cream!
It's really really good.^^

The following day, We went to Harbour town at Waterfront city, Docklands for shopping!

They have alot of outlets there but unfortunately it was raining heavily on that day so we were there only for a while. After that, we went back to the city for lunch.
We had indonesian food this time, nasi uduk and sup buntut!

Then, we head on to Eureka Tower in the evening. Its the tallest building in Melbourne.
The elevator only took 37seconds to reach the 88th floor!

The view from the 88th Floor!

On the last day, we woke up early and went to the Queen Victoria Market.
Then, we went back to Lygon street to have our last dose of Durian Ice Cream! Haha...
And, one last time in Max B before we say bye bye to Melbourne!^^
That's all about my trip!

Take care all of you and Happy Mooncake Festival!^^

Love, Fei
